Happy Birthday Grandpa Del!

I will always remember Grandpa Del's birthday because he shares it with my sweet husband! My mom was right when she said special people are born on January 9th! I was really young with grandpa passed away but I have memories of him laughing and giving me piggy-back-rides. I love to hear my mom talk about Grandpa Del because I can tell what a incredible person he was!
Happy Birthday Grandpa! We love you and miss you dearly!

**** Feel free to post some of your memories of Grandpa!!!

I am so glad that we all are thinking of Grandpa Del -- especially on his birthday! You are so sweet to "post" a tribute to him Lindsay! I was in 8th grade when he went to heaven, so lucky me, I have lots of fun memories of him. The older cousins will remember the wheel barrel rides (which were complete with getting dumped in the pool -- especially if it was Sunday!) The Colored Eggs game during sleepovers, Sam-I-Am stories, the scary stories driving up to Brianhead on that dark, windy road (ooh I just got the chills!) Bowls of icecream, silly songs, playing in the tree on Catalpa, gardening, going to the lake (we drove that big boat (car) to get there!), the blue Master TV van, working at the concession stand at the softball fields...so many great memories! And, I remember when he was sick. We sang silly songs (Don't worry be happy) to make him smile! I just love Grandpa Del and think of him often! xo

I too remember all of those fun and wonderful things about Grandpa Del that Tara wrote about. One thing I will never forget is what a wonderful man everyone thought he was and whenever people would talk about him, their face would light up (and still does). I remember staying the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa when our parents were out of town and Grandpa "ruining our dinner" by taking us to get scones when he got home from work. I also remember when he got sick, and how "strong" he would try to appear and still try to make us laugh and always kept a smile on his face. I often find myself singing in my head the verse of "I Am a Child of God" that we sang at his funeral. So many wonderful memories of Grandpa Del. Thank you Lindsay for posting this for all of us to share.
